I cried when I left him, and moved to pity,
He touched my face and kissed me gently
To wipe my tears away. How then could
I not remain tender to his advances and insanity?
Even now, my heart still beats in longing
For what was - what can never be.
My prayer journal goes blank in the
Months following, and all I remember
Are the nights I curled into his vest and cried
For the loss of the man I loved.
